The Big Box of Men are a Long Beach CA-based swinging blues
group originally formed in 2001. Encompassing classic blues,
traditional standards, jazz, oldies, classic rock, top 40, and even
some disco and funk, the band’s sound combines inspired blues,
jazz and classic rock into a fresh framework. A vintage blues
band with a modern edge, Big Box of Men are equally comfortable
performing a cocktail set of Sinatra lounge songs, down and dirty
John Lee Hooker straight ahead blues tunes, Bill Hailey oldies,
70s disco classics, or classic rock staples -- with equal fervor and
sonic vengeance. The band is led by the twisted mind and ever-
walking basslines of Johnny "BlueBottom" Caverly on lead
vocals and bass guitar, the sugary soul of Suzanne "The Canary"
Caverly on lead vocals; the rhythmic mastery of groove-ologist
Dennis Lockett on lead guitar and lead vocals; the thunderous
backbeat of Fred "Redwood" Shook on drums, the roof-raising
soloing of Justin "Mad Horn" Padilla on saxophone and
percussion, and the bombastic shredding of "Red Hot" Eddie
Peffer on saxophone AND keyboards. With the recent addition of
Denis "Single N" McKee on guitar, the band's dual-axe onslaught
is sonically devastating . . .

"Burnin'" Ernie Brodie: rhythm guitar, brewmaster

Carlos Paniagua: congas, bongos, djembe, percussion
